  • Does anyone know where I can donate a junk boat?

I have a 1970 Chrysler Ski Boat 16' that doesn't run, I bought long ago as a project boat but gave up. I have a trailer to go along with it. I tried to sell it, but its not worth the time and I just want it out of here. Im out of Miami, Florida and the boat is currently in my driveway. I saw a couple of websites like http://www.charityboats.org/ but not sure how the process works. I just want the thing gone!

I had a Bayliner 170 Bowrider that I no longer used after settling down and purchasing an 88 Cruiser Mainship 35. After a while on the market with no takers, I decided to look into donating it. There were some problems, but she ran, and ran well. I wasn't sure how to donate a boat, or even find a boat donation charity. My wife handled finding a charity. And we actually did come across Charity Boats. We spoke on the phone a couple of times, and eventually settled on a day they could come down and go over some paperwork. Pretty easy so far, and answered my questions about the whole ordeal. We met and they did the work, I just signed the title. The reason I write this, is because I just got my tax documents and couldn't be happier. I do highly recommend them if you're planning on donating a boat Katie. I believe the actual charity is Giving Center though you can find them at http://www.givingcenter.org my wife said. Good luck to you.
