    I want to buy a boat in DR..it is a USA boat..how and what do I need to do to register it in canada

    It is rather easy to bring US boats into Canada, you will need a clear title for the boat and the trailer along with a Bill of Sale. Make sure the Bill of Sale is showing the real price you paid and not a lower one thinking you will pay less. You will have to pay the GST but in most cases that is all, if the boat looks a lot better than the value shown on the Bill of Sale, customs may look up the actual value of the boat and charge you GST on this amount. Registering it in Canada can be done on line and is very simple, you need the Bill of Sale and one piece of photo ID to be sent in as a file attachment. Any questions just let me know as I import about 24 boats a year from the US.
